Section 5 (also known as Bukit Gasing) is a matured residential estate of Petaling Jaya. It is strategically located between Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. The residential estate covers 570.81 acres and located along 2.31 km Jalan Gasing stretch. It comprises 725 bungalows, 366 semi-detached houses, 562 link-houses and 3 condominiums (Maxwell Towers, Cameron Towers and Fraser Towers).
The residents’ profiles of Section 5 comprise of middle to higher-income families with the average age of 40 years old. Most of them are professionals, doctors, politicians, and businessmen. Some of the houses here are passed along for two to three generations.
The earliest developers in the enclave are Lee Fah Sung and Petaling Garden Bhd back then in 1963, where Section 5 was developed as a satellite town of Kuala Lumpur. Section 5 is also among the earliest townships in Petaling Jaya.
Aplenty amenities and facilities are located within the enclave of Section 5. There are several schools in the vicinity including SMK Taman Petaling, SMK La Salle and SRK La Salle. Moreover, there are other few schools located just a stone throw away from the enclave such as SMK Assunta, Catholic High School, and SK Petaling Jaya 1 and 2.
As for recreational, there are few playgrounds mere minutes away from MBPJ Hockey Stadium, Arena Rakan Muda and Taman Jaya Lake. Not only that, there are several mosques, churches, and temples can be found nearby. Thus, Section 5 is just a perfect place to stay to grow a family.
The location of Section 5 is also great if one needs to commute to the city centre, Mid Valley City or Bangsar for work, as it is merely just 15 minutes to those areas. For shopping and leisure, it is served by Amcorp Mall, Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens and Bangsar Village.
Section 5 can be easily accessed from Federal Highway and New Pantai Expressway (NPE). Besides that, it is also within mere minutes away from Jalan Templer and Petaling KTM Komuter stations.
